    Tonkinese Cats can make good pets in Portugal if they match your IifestyIe. The Tonkinese is a medium-sized, short-haired cat. Tonkinese are similar to Burmese in temperament. Tonkinese are very intelligent, pleasant companions. Playful kittens mature into dignified adults. Tonkinese get along well with children and other pets, and are sociable with visitors. Tonkinese love attention and affection, and can be easy to train.

Tonkinese were named after Tonkan, a fictional island in the musical, South Pacific, where half-breeds find acceptance. Tonkinese are also called Tonks. Tonkinese like to fetch like dogs.
